The Cavalcaders explores the lives and loves of a community of characters in small-town Ireland. Set in an old-fashioned cobbler’s shop, this is the story of a group of men who spend their days mending shoes and their nights as a barbershop quartet and singers of local legend. Their musical harmonies, however, are not reflected in their private lives. The Cavalcaders is a wonderful memory play that explores the complexity of human relationships. With live music and a beautiful musical score, the play is both moving and entertaining as Billy Roche examines how men relate to men and to women.
Decadent Theatre Company toured The Cavalcaders in 2013 around Ireland to 12 venues.
